CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Dusty swam laps back and forth as he waited for Asia. He was beginning to think she’d changed her mind. Then she walked through the patio doors. She was a vision in a tiny black string bikini and a matching wrap tied around her waist.

Her body was on full display, and Dusty’s breath caught. His eyes roamed up her long legs to the wrap hiding the prize he wanted most. Then they moved over her smooth belly to her barely covered breasts.

Big Al walked past the open doorway, pausing to see Asia standing there in all her glory. He gave a thumbs up, waggling his eyebrows. Dusty was about ready to wipe that goofy ass grin off his face when he moved on.

Dusty cleared his throat. “Great, you found one.”

“Yes, thankfully, this one was shoved in a drawer. Still had its tags on and everything.”

“Well, don’t be shy. Hop in,” he teased, and splashed water at her.

“Hey, watch it!” she joked back. Then she untied the wrap and turned to place it on the wooden chaise behind her. When she bent down, Dusty leaned closer for a better view.

He licked his lips, and his eyes roamed to her ass. The bikini bottom seemed more thong than bathing suit. Damn, what temptation had he just gotten himself into?

She walked down the steps until the bottom half of her body sank below the water.

“Why don’t you start by just walking from one side to the other in the shallow area?”

“Okay.” She did as he suggested.

“How’s that feel?” Dusty tracked her every move, watching for any sign of discomfort.

“Surprisingly, good.” She turned to lay a sparkling smile upon him.

“Good. Why don’t you make three laps back and forth? We want to start slow to avoid re-injuring it.”

She nodded and got to work. He could see her move with the same precision she’d used while performing her yoga exercises.

When she finished, he had her do foot circles, flexes, and flies.

“We could stop for today or do a few more exercises? You know your body better than anyone. How’s that ankle feeling?”

“It’s a little tired, but I think I could do one more.” She stood from where she’d been sitting on the steps.

“All right, why don’t you walk on your toes to one side of the pool and on your heels back?”

Asia started while Dusty swam across the pool to the deep end. By the time he reached the other side, Asia was almost back to her starting point.

Dusty climbed from the pool as Asia stood at the shallow end. He dove in and swam underwater until he came up a few feet from her.

He stood and slicked the water from his head, closing the distance.

“So, now that we’re done with the work, tell me something. Was Nico everything you wanted in a man? The fake identity Nico… the one with the yacht and private jet and properties around the world. That stuff is important to you?”

“Not really.”

“Then what was it about him?”

She shrugged. “He showed me attention.
